Just after upgrading to ePrism 5.1 on an existing 5.0 (5.002 for example) ePrism 500, you may want to disable (turn "off") the ePrism 500 "Welcome Message" so users do not receive this email. For an upgrade, it is highly likely that users have their addresses already known (mapped) in ePrism, and therefore, address mappings created via the Welcome Message are not needed, making the Welcome Message itself unnecessary. Additionally, you will avoid questions and emails from users since suppression of the Welcome Message makes the upgrade transparent to the user community. Ideally, you would turn the Welcome Message "off" before users come in and start sending/receiving email.
Note that new ePrism 5.1 installations would typically leave the Welcome Message enabled ("on") to capture the address mappings of the users.
To turn off the Welcome Message, launch Appliance Manager, go to Mail Administration and Reports > Administration and simply set the radio button to "No" for the highlighted item (shown below), then click Submit Changes, close the browser window (don't use Log Out), then go to Mail Administration and Reports > Administration again and double-check that it says "No" (this is just to be certain that the Welcome Message is disabled).
