During the initial system configuration, the Default Router (Gateway) to the internet is specified. A diagnostic self-check is performed to make sure that basic connections are working, including the connections needed for accessing St. Bernard Software.
The ePrism update server (aka, IUS server) continuously provides:
Updated virus signatures (from Kaspersky)
Updated spam detection criteria (eGuard database)
ePrism software updates (including Hotfixes)
Appliance Manager updates
You can easily check the update server connection anytime after system configuration, using Appliance Manager.
