The ePrism 500 is designed to be easy to setup and use. ePrism 500 does not begin filtering email until you explicitly redirect incoming & outbound mail to it. This means you can plug it in, boot it, install appliance manager on a workstation in the same subnet, launch appliance manager to configure the ePrism 500, and only after the initial configuration is done, do you re-direct incoming mail to it by changing the DNS server's MX (mail exchange) record, or by altering router settings. You may re-direct outbound email to ePrism by setting up an SMTP Connector on the email server.
