ePrism 500 Appliance Manager

Applies To: Model 500

Before you would run Appliance Manager, you would Physically Install ePrism.

Appliance Manager allows the discovery, configuration and management of one or more ePrism 500 and iPrism appliances (Models 1200 & 3000 for example).

There are versions of Appliance Manager for Windows, Unix, and OS X.

Appliance Manager automatically notifies you when a new version of itself has become available, and helps you perform the update for the workstation that you are currently using.

The Appliance manager software is initially installed from CD (by default to C:\Program Files\Appliance Manager) on a workstation in the same subnet as the ePrism appliance so that Appliance Manager can "discover" (with a network broadcast) ePrism and iPrism appliance(s) when launched. New appliances display with the message "Not Configured", as shown below.

Right-Click on the "Not Configured" ePrism (above), and select System Configuration. This will bring up an IP Assignment Wizard so you can assign an IP Address and Subnet Mask. Click Next, then Done.

The ePrism will be redisplayed with your assigned IP Address, and then there is an automatic continuation of the initial system configuration dialogue, also known as the "Insallation Wizard".
